Feeding Centers
More Than a Meal. A Doorway to Hope.
In the remote mountain villages of Guatemala, hunger is not an occasional problem—it is a daily reality for many families. Children come to our feeding centers hungry, sometimes walking miles to receive a meal.
Through our Feeding Center ministry, Flames of Fire Ministry provides nutritious meals to hundreds of children while creating a place where they are loved, prayed for, taught, and introduced to Jesus.
We believe that when you fill a hungry tummy, you open the door to touch a hungry heart.
Where We Serve
Our feeding centers are located in villages throughout Eastern Guatemala and the Alta Verapaz region, reaching both the Chortí and Poqomchi' people groups.
Naranjo — Our oldest and largest center, opened in 2006 after we first visited the village during the devastating 2002 drought. What began with a burden for hungry, malnourished children has become a place where hundreds have heard the Gospel and many have given their hearts to Jesus.
Nueva Esperanza — Opened in 2009, this center serves children living in extreme poverty. With no electricity at the center, even providing a meal requires faith, perseverance, and committed partners.
Guareruche — Tucked into a mountain valley about a 45-minute walk from the main road, Guareruche is home to strong Chortí families, many of whom speak primarily the Chortí language. The center brings practical help and the love of Jesus to a community where poverty is profound.
Cerro Verde, Cobán — Opened in 2021 during the pandemic in response to overwhelming need, this center reaches the Poqomchi' people of the Alta Verapaz region. We are grateful to partner with local church leaders who help us minister to these precious families.
Guachcuz, Cobán — Opened in 2022 as another center in Alta Verapaz, Guachcuz continues our work among the Poqomchi' people, meeting physical needs while opening doors for the Gospel.
Tontoles — Opened in 2023 when the Naranjo center had grown beyond what it could accommodate. Many children were walking as long as two hours to reach Naranjo, so we established Tontoles to bring the ministry closer to their homes.
Feeding Bodies. Reaching Hearts.
Every center has a story.
Some began because of a drought. Others were born out of a pandemic, overwhelming poverty, or simply because there were more hungry children than we could say no to.
But every center has the same purpose:
To meet a physical need while sharing an eternal hope.
A meal may be what brings a child through the door, but our prayer is that they leave knowing they are loved by God.
Through the generosity and prayers of our partners, we are able to provide food, establish feeding centers, support local workers, and reach children and families who might otherwise be forgotten.
You Can Help Feed a Child
Your gift can help provide a meal to a hungry child and help us continue bringing the love of Jesus into these mountain communities.
For us, it has never been just about food.
It is about dignity.
It is about compassion.
It is about opening doors.
It is about changing lives.
And ultimately, it is about Jesus.
“For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat…”
Matthew 25:35
Feed a child. Touch a heart. Share Jesus.
